Legal Observers NSW is a grassroots collective that supports struggles for liberation.


LONSW helps to ensure that people protesting don’t face police or the legal system alone.

We acknowledge the First Nations across this continent and surrounding islands on which we do legal observing work. We recognise their continuing resistance and sovereignty.

We honour the radical origins of legal observing and the spirit of self-determination that it was born from. We recognise Aboriginal activists in the late 1960s who began monitoring police harassment, discrimination and force in Redfern. We commit to continuing in this tradition of community self-defence.

What we do
